Biography:

Xavier Wttrwulghe is an award-winning and highly regarded painter, sculptor, and photographer from Belgium. Surreal portraits are the central theme of his work. He is almost always hidden behind glasses. Xavier Wttrwulghe says that « art has no limits, » and he creates unique and memorable pieces by mixing different materials. Xavier Wttrwulghe was born in 1976 in Belgium, where he graduated from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels. Over the years, he has exhibited nationally and internationally, including in France, Monaco, Luxembourg, Switzerland, and Spain, and his works are now found in private collections worldwide. One of his works was acquired from a private collection by the Musée des Franciscaines in Deauville.

Prizes and Awards:

  • Winner of the Sony Portrait Competition, July 2014
    3rd place for Belgium in the Sony International Competition, judged by 8 panels, including 2 panels from the international magazine « National Geographic ».
  • Silver Award 2018, Art Majeur.
